NanoClaw for Slack — Support
Help with the Add Agent to Slack integration — installing it, running it, or removing it.
Contact our support team
Email us and a person on the NanoClaw team will get back to you. No account, no sign-up, no ticket portal.
Before you write: four quick checks
Most reports we see come down to one of these. If none of them match, skip straight to the email above — you don’t need to work through this list first.
The agent doesn’t reply in a channel
Agents hold bot scopes only, so they can read and post solely in conversations they’ve been invited to. Invite the agent to the channel, then mention it by name. In a direct message, no invite is needed.
Setup is waiting on workspace admin approval
If your workspace requires admin approval for new apps, the NanoClaw manager app needs a one-time approval before any agent can be provisioned. Ask a workspace admin to approve it in Slack, then re-run setup.
The agent was working and then went quiet
Agents connect to Slack over Socket Mode — an outbound connection from your own machine. If your NanoClaw host is asleep, offline, or the process stopped, the agent goes offline with it. Confirm NanoClaw is running on your machine and has network access.
You need to remove an agent or disconnect the workspace
From NanoClaw, delete an agent’s app or disconnect the whole workspace from setup. From Slack, an admin can remove any of the apps directly in workspace settings. Removing the manager app also ends NanoClaw’s ability to provision new agents in that workspace.
What to include in your email
None of this is required — write to us either way. But the more of it you can share, the faster we can reproduce the problem and reply with something useful.
- Your NanoClaw version and the operating system it runs on
- The Slack workspace name, and the name of the agent involved
- What you expected to happen, and what happened instead
- Roughly when it happened, including your time zone
- Any error text from setup or the NanoClaw logs — redact tokens and secrets before sending
Please don’t send bot tokens, API keys, or the contents of your .env file. We never need them
to help you, and we’d rather they stayed on your machine.
What we can help with
Anything in the Add Agent to Slack flow: provisioning agent apps, workspace approval, agents connecting over Socket Mode, scopes and permissions, and removing agents or disconnecting a workspace.
NanoClaw itself is open-source software that runs on your own hardware, and your agents connect to the model providers and services you configure. We can help you read what your install is telling you, but we can’t see your machine, your workspace, or your agents’ conversations — by design. See how the integration works for why.
Other ways to reach us
These are optional community channels, and both require an account with a separate service. Email is always available and is the fastest route to our team.
- NanoClaw on Discord — community discussion and questions. Requires a Discord account.
- GitHub issues — bug reports and feature requests for the open-source project. Requires a GitHub account.
Security and privacy
To report a security vulnerability, email support@nanoco.ai with “Security” in the subject line and we’ll route it straight to the right people. For privacy questions, data requests, or anything covered by our policies, write to privacy@nanoco.ai.
See also our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service, both of which cover the Slack integration specifically.
